Where will  you spend Eternity?

Are you going to Heaven when you die? This is the most important question of your life and we all need to be very honest about the answer. I’ve asked that question of many people and most people seem to be sure they are going to pass the test. When asked why, they say things like, well, I’ve been a good___________(fill in the blank)father, mother, child, generous person, what would you answer?

What this tells us, is that most people believe in the scale theory; They believe that God looks at your good deeds and puts them on one side of the scale to see if they out-weigh your sins. The fact is, this is NOT what the Bible teaches. The good news is, its much easier than that. But know this, there is only ONE way to get into Heaven, or to balance the scales in your favor.

“But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:4-7.

So how do we get rescued? What this text says is that “God our Savior appeared” in loving kindness and  HE saved us, we did not save ourselves by doing good deeds. God poured out his Holy Spirit on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior. You see, easy right. Well frankly, no person can ever do enough good to wash away their sins against God, that is why Jesus had to go to the cross, to pay the price for your sins because your good works do not take away your sins and the penalty for sin is Hell. Jesus saves us from Hell and gives us the promise of Heaven, but we must accept this amazing gift that God is offering us, right now, today !!!

Pray now and tell God that you accept his loving kindness, salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. And know that from this day forward, your kind deeds have great value but they do not save yourself from sins penalty, Jesus did that for you and by accepting Him as your Savior, you can live knowing the great peace, eternity in Heaven is waiting for you.
