Missionaries
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
—Matthew 28:18-20
Quebec: Tim & Barb Vermilyea
Tim and Barb Vermilyea minister in the greater Quebec City region. This beautiful city in the Canadian province of Quebec has been home to the Vermilyeas since 1986. They, along with their three children (Mandi, Ben and Matt), moved to Quebec to become a part of a team of church-planters and theological educators. They ministered with a team of missionaries from Baptist Mid-Missions from 1986 to 1996. In August of 1996, they became a part of ABWE’s missionary family – their first missionaries in “la belle province” of Quebec.
Church-planting has been an important focus of ministry. The first church that the Vermilyeas helped establish is in the town of Pont-Rouge, a small community 30 kilometers west of Quebec City. The church is autonomous today and pastored by a French-Canadian.
In 2004, as the Pont-Rouge church called their first pastor, Tim and Barb began an evangelistic Bible study in Quebec City with the goal of forming a nucleus of believers and establishing another new church. Credo Baptist Church was born in 2005 and continues to be the focus of their church ministry.
Theological education has always been a part of both Tim and Barb’s ministry. A Bible college, ETBQ, had recently opened its doors when they arrived in 1986. The school has had a name change along with the way, but has been a part of pastoral training for over 20 years. The last two years have brought other changes… with a lack of students interested in a degree program, the curriculum is being revised and taught at a Bible institute level in local churches.

Nicaragua: Andrew & Diane Large
We are Andrew and Diane Large, and are ministering to the professional people in Managua, Nicaragua. We have been there for the last ten years. We are ministering to some of the most spiritually needy people of this country, and God has raised up the “Encuentro Con Cristo” Baptist Church among them, orienting them unto salvation and good works (Ephesians 2:8-10).
